Java Cross Reference

Motivation

The source code for the java.* packages was always delivered with the JDK. Since project "Icetea", even the whole Java source code including the native part and the sun.* packages is publicly available. Most classes in this project are quite similar to their closed source Java 1.5 counterparts.

But an easily searchable cross reference is still missing. For a while, openjdk.neojava.org was filling the gap, but this site seems to be currently offline. Sun themselves only have javadoc online without any links to source code or internal packages. The same applies to a lot of other important Java projects. This was the reason we decided to put cross reference documentation online for the most important Java packages.
